Former Super Eagles midfielder, Garba Lawal has said that Coach Genrot Rohr did not consult them before announcing the squad for the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking with journalists, Lawal said none of the committee members was aware of the final list before it was disclosed to the public.
Coach Gernot Rohr on Sunday made public a 23-man squad that will prosecute the Mundial, which begin on June 14.
The National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme has disclosed that four hundred and twenty Nigerians die everyday due to tuberculosis.
Coordinator of the programme, Adebola Lawanson who disclosed this, said 154, 000 deaths are also recorded every year.
Lawanson explained that of the 105,000 cases diagnosed in 2017, 63 per cent were between the productive ages of 15 to 25
Over 20 billion sticks of cigarettes are consumed in Nigeria yearly, and 4.5 million adults in the country currently use tobacco products.
Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole disclosed this at the event to commemorate the 2018 World No-Tobacco Day in Abuja.
He said that Nigeria is on its way to ratify the protocol to eliminate illicit trade in tobacco products as the memorandum on the protocol was approved by the Federal Executive Council on May 23, 2018.
As the World marks World Environment Day, the Delta state government has said it will introduce an initiative to fight plastic pollution in order to protect and preserve the sources of water, food, medicine and shelter.
The state commissioner for Environment, John Nani, in a broadcast in his office said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration is making frantic efforts to tackle the enormous environment challenges facing the state.
Nani further said the state government has established a taskforce on sanitation to check the menace associated with indiscriminate dumping of refuse and compliance to Environment Sanitation Laws and guidelines by residents.
