Snapchat definitely ranks among some of the most popular social media apps for young people out there.

Since it’s release in 2011, it has gathered no less than 187 million daily active users, but the app’s popularity may have hit a snag lately.

Following an update on the app recently, some of it’s users appear unhappy with the platform. Ordinarily, that shouldn’t be a problem, unless one of the disgruntled happen to be Kylie Jenner.

The new mom is one of the most active celebrities on Snapchat, but days ago, she suggested she might be unhappy with the app’s recent update. She tweeted,

She did go on to somewhat retract the tweet, but not after it did some size-able damage to Snapchat’s bank account.

The tweet has been retweeted over 61k times, and liked a cool 318k times, and now, Reuters, is reporting that Snapchat lost over $1.5 Billion in market value following Mama Stormi’s comment about the app. But it looks like the new update will not be going anywhere soon, if the Company’s CEO’s comments are anything to go by.

While speaking at a conference sometime last week, Evan Spiegel had this to say about the update,

“The Complaints we’re seeing reinforce the philosophy. Even the frustrations we’re seeing really validate those changes. It’ll take time for people to adjust, but for me, using it for a couple months, i feel way more attached to the service.”

“This new foundation is just the beginning and we will always listen closely to find new ways to make the service better for everyone. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and creativity. We are very excited for what’s ahead”

Well, the new update doesn’t really affect the coolness of Snapchat’s camera and filters, so i guess that still counts for something.
