On January 19, Canadian rapper, Drake put out an EP of some sort called ‘Scary Hours’. ‘Some sort’ because the project only only has 2 tracks; including ‘Diplomatic Immunity’ and ‘God’s Plan’. While both songs have been widely accepted, the latter has grown to become an anthem for lovers of good music around the world.

‘God’s Plan’ currently sits on the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, ahead of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ (duet with Beyonce), and “Finesse’ (rmx) by Bruno Mars and Cardi B.

The song has also been streamed a total of 101. 7 million times in the USA in just one week, making it the second most streamed song in that period.

The only other song to have reached that figure is ‘Harlem Shake’ by Baauer in 2013— it was streamed 103.1 million times. This means it still holds the title, but respect has to be accorded Drake for getting this close. God’s Plan is number one for the 5th week after a month, and it boasts a video already hailed as the ‘Video of the year’.

Drake is no doubt an artist in his own league, and years from today, he will be remembered as one of the best to ever do it.
